Vetrozelena, CWP’s subsidiary, organized a workshop „Eco Academy“ for students who have completed the fourth grade of „Aksentije Maksimović“ elementary school in Dolovo. The workshop was held in the City Forest in Pančevo.
Through an educational program adapted to their age, 48 students learned about the living world that inhabits their surroundings and about the importance of preserving it. The workshop consisted of three thematic units, with the first one being about the fishes of the Danube and Tamiš. The second unit’s topic was the insectarium, while the third one included research on the animal world in the City Forest.
After learning and researching, the time for playing arrived. One of the “Eco Academy” project’s ideas is to encourage children to acquire new pieces of knowledge and skills through play, which they did in Treasure Hunt, on this occasion. At the end of the workshop, each participant received a gift – eco bags, books, and eco water bottles, and an “Eco Academy” diploma. In the end, eco academics enjoyed the picnic in nature.
The “Eco Academy” workshop was organized in cooperation with the “Supernatural” association and members of the Biological-Research society “Josif Pančić”, as a part of the “Friends of Danube” festival. Vetrozelena is a sponsor of this festival and contributed to its program.
