Vetrozelena Donation: Pančevo Enriched by 100 Plane Trees

CWP, through its Vetrozelena project, has conducted a greening action in the Kotež 2 neighborhood in Pančevo, during which 100 plane trees were planted. This initiative is part of the our company’s broader strategy to enhance local infrastructure, preserve the environment, and support the local community.

The greening action arose from collaboration with the Pančevo City Administration and JKP “Zelenilo” Pančevo, who identified local needs and selected suitable tree species and planting locations. This action not only contributes to enhancing the city’s aesthetic appearance but also positively impacts air quality and the environment.

Jovanka Atanacković, Country Manager Serbia at CWP Europe, emphasized that this action symbolizes our company’s commitment to nature conservation and improving the local population’s living standards. “I am very proud that by planting 100 plane trees, we have enriched the Kotež 2 neighborhood, creating a more beautiful and healthier environment for the community. These trees, with their longevity and numerous benefits, enrich the surroundings, symbolizing the lasting value and multiple positive impacts of our renewable energy projects. Just as plane trees provide shade and purify the air over centuries, our projects contribute to community stability and long-term prosperity. Thinking of future generations enjoying beneath the canopy of these trees fills me with great joy and pride, as together with the Pančevo City Administration and JKP ‘Zelenilo’ Pančevo, we create a green future for all.”

Maja Vitman, City Manager of Pančevo, added: “Pančevo plants hundreds of trees annually across the city. Today, we do this with partners who understand and value the importance of a healthier environment. The initiative by CWP Europe has pleased us, and we gladly accepted it. This company is a leader in developing renewable energy projects in Southeast Europe. Today, our city is richer by 100 new plane trees, and tomorrow, some new children will play beneath the branches of these beautiful trees. The chosen location, which includes a playground for children, holds multiple significance. We thank for the donation and social responsibility and invite all businesses in the city to join with local government and relevant enterprises in making such strides towards nature conservation and a healthier future.”

The planting of plane trees is one of several initiatives organized by CWP in Pančevo. Among them are the “Eco Academy” small ecology school for children and the eco-festival “Re:connect”. Additionally, the company financed seven local initiatives submitted to the “Ideas that Drive Change” competition, held in collaboration with the Pančevo Local Foundation.
